Section 2.1 has provided a classification of the main verb types based on the number and type of nominal arguments they take; cf. Table 1. Section 2.2 has discussed how these verbs behave when they are supplemented with a complementive, and Section 2.3 has discussed verbs taking a PP-complement. Together, these sections provide a basic syntactic classification of main verbs. This section concludes the discussion of argument structure by considering two more special verb types that do not fit easily into this classification in all respects. Section 2.5.1 discusses so-called psychological verbs, and Section 2.5.2 discusses inherently reflexive verbs.
