23.3. A semantic classification

This section proposes a semantic division of adjectives based on two binary semantic features: [±qualifying] and [±kind-of relation]. Section 23.3.1 first shows that the four main classes of adjectives defined in this way exhibit specific characteristic syntactic and morphological properties. The four remaining sections then discuss the four classes in more detail.
