Section 36.2 dealt with the lexical restrictions on the formation of pronominal PPs. However, the ability to form a pronominal PP is not sufficient to allow R-extraction; additional syntactic conditions must be met in order to license the stranding of the preposition. These conditions are discussed in this section.
