This section deals with adverbially used adpositional phrases. Sections 35.4.1 and 35.4.2 discuss spatial and temporal adpositional phrases, respectively. Section 35.4.3 concludes with a discussion of non-spatial/temporal adpositional phrases. There is much more to say about the distribution of the different semantic types of adverbial phrases (including PPs) in clauses; this will be the subject of Chapter V8.
